Helping Enrich DC

More than any other single skill, the ability to read – and read fluently - allows a child to become a successful scholar, explore the world, positively impact their community and have marketable career options.

What's New?
We are accepting applications from Anacostia parents with children, ages 4-5, who'd like to prepare for Kindergarten.
Helping Enrich DC's belief is that literacy is the quintessential cornerstone of education. It is the key to reducing poverty and simultaneously increasing living standards. Our organization maintains a dedicated focus on youth as well as adults, with the potential to make a positive impact on underprivileged groups and their quality of life.

Our organization was founded in 2011 to create programs that would benefit the underserved population of the District in various formats by offering services related to literacy and developmental training. In addition, Helping Enrich DC offers services that evoke an initiative-in-learning approach; by creating an atmosphere that engages learning in a hands-on, interactive environment; empowering young adults with ongoing skills necessary to successfully acquire employment that will motivate and benefit the individuals into taking responsibility for maximizing their potential; and improving the overall community with individuals that increase the sustainability of their community.

HEDC believes in building communities which cultivates relationships. The active partnership of our organization with our community considers the District’s challenges in literacy and works to find solutions. We believe there is a place for every resident, at every age and at every level of commitment.
